Salt Lake City, UT — October 20, 2026 — Greenside at Silo Park, Catalyst’s 65-unit workforce housing development in Salt Lake City’s historic Granary District, has received a Commendation in the Multifamily/Mixed-Use Development (Built) category at the 2026 AIA Orange County Design Awards. The award recognizes MVE + Partners, Greenside’s design architect, for a design that celebrates the neighborhood’s industrial heritage.
The site takes its identity from its historic grain silos and warehouses, and MVE + Partners’ design brings them together with new construction in a single, cohesive block. The new buildings are arranged to keep the silos in view from the street and to frame Silos Park, a privately managed park with public access. Brick and heavy-timber materials draw on the character of the historic structures, and pedestrian walkways connect the buildings across the site, allowing old and new to read as one place.
Greenside was the first building to open on the Silos block, a $270M mixed-use, mixed-income masterplan that Catalyst and its partners, Blaser Ventures and Lowe Property Group, are bringing to life. The block also includes Millstone at Silo Park, which delivered 180 units of LIHTC housing this summer, as well as the 220-unit Reserve at Silo Park and the 275-unit Switchyard at Silo Park, both currently under construction. Just as the design blends old and new, the masterplan brings together households across the income spectrum, from 0 to 120% AMI, as neighbors on the same block.
Congratulations to MVE + Partners and the full project team, including Blaser Ventures, Lowe Property Group, Wasatch Commercial Builders, and Wenk Associates.
